ใน part นี้ สิ่งที่เปลี่ยนไปในข้อสอบ TOEIC แบบ updated ก็คือจำนวนข้อครับ โดย ลดลงจากเดิม 10 ข้อ เหลือ 6 ข้อ ส่วนลักษณะคำถามจะยังคงเหมือนเดิมครับ
Part 2: Question-Response (คำถาม-คำตอบ)
สำหรับ part 2 ในข้อสอบ TOEIC แบบใหม่ได้ลดจำนวนข้อจาก 30 ข้อ เหลือ 25 ข้อครับ แต่รูปแบบโจทย์นั้นไม่ได้มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงครับ
Part 3: Conversations (บทสนทนา)
Part 3 เป็นส่วนแรกของข้อสอบ TOEIC รูปแบบใหม่ที่มีการเปลี่ยนรูปแบบคำถามและตัวเลือกครับ แต่ก่อนอื่น เรามีศึกษาจำนวนคำถามที่เปลี่ยนไปก่อนครับ ใน part นี้ Updated TOEIC ได้เพิ่มจำนวนคำถาม จากเดิม 30 ข้อ เพิ่มเป็น 39 ข้อ ซึ่งทำให้จำนวนบทสนทนาที่เราต้องฟังนั้นเพิ่มขึ้นด้วยเช่นกัน คือ เพิ่มจาก 10 เป็น 13 บทสนทนาครับ ส่วนจำนวนคำถามต่อบทสนทนานั้นยังคงเท่าเดิมที่ 3 คำถามต่อ 1 บทครับ
ทีนี้ เรามาดูความแตกต่างรูปแบบโจทย์ในข้อสอบ TOEIC แบบปัจจุบัน และข้อสอบ TOEIC รูปแบบใหม่กันครับ (โดยประโยคภาษาอังกฤษทั้งหมดนี้อ้างอิงจาก ETS ผู้ออกแบบข้อสอบ TOEIC ครับ):
Conversations that include shorter turns and more exchanges
- Narrator: Questions x through y refer to the following conversation and list.
- Woman: Larry, we have a new graphic designer starting next month and we’ll need to set her up with a laptop and extra monitor. Can you place orders for those?
- Man: Sure. You know our vendor has raised their prices, right?
- Woman: Really?
- Man: Yes. I just looked at the catalog a few minutes ago, and their current models are more expensive.
- Woman: Right. Well, our budget per work area is $1,000 maximum. So let’s order the system with the largest screen that falls within that price.
- Man: OK. I’ll take a look at the prices again and place the order.
More than two speakers in some conversations
- Narrator: Questions x through y refer to the following conversation with three speakers.
- Man 1: Have you two taken a look at the progress they’ve made upstairs on the office expansion? It looks great!
- Woman: I know! I can’t believe it! And the offices up there have amazing views of the city.
- Man 2: I wonder which division will move up there when it’s finished.
- Woman: I heard it’s the research department.
- Man 1: Ah, because they have the most people.
- Woman: Probably. I’d love to have an office on that floor, though.
- Man 2: Yeah. Well, the company must be making good money if they’re adding that space!
- Man 1: I think you’re right, there!
Conversations that include elisions (going to / gonna) and incomplete sentences/fragments (Yes, in a minute; Down the hall; Could you?)
บทสนทนามีการใช้การละหรือตัดเสียงหรือพยางค์ออกครับ เช่น แทนที่จะใช้ going to ก็พูดว่า gonna แทน นอกจากนี้ บทสนทนายังมีการใช้ประโยคที่ไม่สมบูรณ์ หรือเศษหรือส่วนของประโยคครับ เช่น Yes, in a minute (ใช่ ในอีกสักนาที/สักครู่); Down the hall (ลง/ตรงไปทาง/ไปตามห้องโถง) หรือ Could you?
